Participants are responsible for obtaining a copy of the book.
Participants are expected to:
Read the assigned book for the month.
Respond to the discussion questions
Respond to other participants answers in separate posts.
Create a lesson using the book.
Meet together for 1 hours to further discuss the books and share lesson plans.
Discussions need to be posted and Lessons need to be emailed by 9:00 PM Sunday, January 24.
We will meet to discuss the books on Monday, January 25 from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM in the McKinley High School Library Learning Commons/Media Center (Main Campus).
Lesson Plan Instructions:
In a word doc or PDF file, save and name your lesson plan with your name and the title of the book (Example: Mindy E. - The One and Only Ivan)
To "officially"sign up to participate in this month's discussion and activities, please join the Wiki. Then, post on the Discussion Board under "Introduce Yourself" thread by 3:00 Friday, January 15.
The Januaryl book selection if the participants' choice of ONE book from
EITHER the 2015 Robert F. Sibert Informational Award Winner or Honor book
OR the 2015 YALSA Award for Excellence in Nonfiction for Young Adults.
